Clean Slate Solar
CHALLENGE
Clean Slate Solar was seeking affordable capital to support the development of community solar projects across Prince George’s County.
SOLUTION
MCEC provided Clean Slate Solar with a bridge loan to deliver a short-term financing option to align with the company’s needs.

RESULTS
Two community solar installations have been completed in Landover, adding roughly 1.7MW to the grid, with one more planned for construction.
Pirl Technology
CHALLENGE
Pirl Technology needed additional funding to bring its proprietary modular EV charging technology to market.
SOLUTION
Pirl was provided with a convertible note to assist with product development, which aligned repayment term with the grouping company.

RESULTS
Pirl has begun to offer early access pilots to customers, with the Level 2 chargers estimated to reduce 10-year cost of ownership by 70% compared to traditional chargers.
Habitat for Humanity of the Chesapeake
CHALLENGE
Habitat for Humanity of the Chesapeake, a Maryland-based nonprofit, was seeking capital to support their homeownership program which provides affordable energy efficient homes to low-income homeowners.
SOLUTION
The C3 Fund awarded a grant to Habitat for Humanity of the Chesapeake for an interest rate buydown of three energy efficient homes.
Financing Amount: $160,600
RESULTS
Habitat for Humanity of the Chesapeake was able to use the funding to continue development of additional homes in their program while the three homes were being sold to the new homeowners.
Town of Chestertown
CHALLENGE
The Town of Chestertown needed bridge financing to support the development of two solar arrays.
SOLUTION
MCEC provided Chestertown with a bridge loan that seamlessly integrated with the town’s capital stack.
Financing Amount: $1,500,000
Loan Term: 18 Months
RESULTS
Solar projects totaling 2.2 MW in installed capacity successfully reached safe harbor and have begun development, with 1.2 MW contributing to municipal operations and 1.0 MW for community solar.
Centennial
CHALLENGE
Centennial AD LLC sought financing to support the early-stage costs associated with development of six community solar projects.
SOLUTION
MCEC provided Centennial with a line of credit which will recycle funds into new projects over the life of the loan.
Financing Amount: $1,000,000
Loan Term: 2 Years
RESULTS
The line of credit provided liquidity for pre-construction costs like interconnection deposits for the community solar projects with a future total estimated installed capacity of 13 MW.
