Our Origins
The Maryland Clean Energy Center (MCEC) was created in 2008 by the State with a transformative vision—to spark a future powered by clean energy. MCEC serves as a catalyst for the clean energy revolution, guiding the growth of sustainable businesses, unlocking financial resources, and sharing the knowledge and expertise needed for the state of Maryland to thrive.
As a green bank, our directives are rooted in our enabling statute, which empowers us to promote clean energy industries, provide financing solutions, and drive meaningful change across the state. With this visionary foundation, we are committed to:
