About the Event
On May 14, 2026, from 3:00 to 4:00 pm, the Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) will host a webinar about the development of a Clean Heat Standard (CHS) for Maryland. CHS is a program that guides heating fuel providers to gradually reduce climate pollution by delivering cleaner heating options to homes and businesses. MDE is seeking stakeholder input as it works through the CHS program design.
During the webinar, MDE will present an overview of the CHS program, including how people would earn clean heat credits for delivering alternative fuels or installing energy efficiency upgrades in buildings, and how heating fuel providers would retire clean heat credits to demonstrate compliance with climate pollution reduction requirements.
