Join Vicinity Energy—the nation’s largest district energy provider—and The Maryland Energy Innovation Accelerator (MEIA) for an exciting initiative focused on advancing clean heating and decarbonization in our cities. Together, we’re bringing forward new ideas, technologies, and collaborations that can make urban energy systems more sustainable and efficient.
What We’re Tackling
We’re exploring practical solutions in three key areas:
-
Electric Boilers: How can we speed up installation and integration to scale clean energy faster?
-
Heat Pumps: What’s needed to overcome water access and network integration barriers?
-
Thermal Storage: How can storage help balance energy loads across dense city grids?
Over the next few months, teams will be developing ideas and prototypes around these emerging technologies—building toward real-world solutions with the potential for pilot projects and partnerships.
Join us on February 6 at The Pava Center in Baltimore for the invite-only final pitches from participating teams and see which ideas rise to the top. Don’t miss this chance to connect with Maryland’s clean energy community and witness innovation in action.
