Commemorating a Century of Women
Guest Article by Barbara Tyran (Women’s Council on Energy & the Environment) from the March 2020 edition of the MCEC Currents
2020 is an exciting year for US women, as we celebrate the 100th anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment, giving women the right to vote.
As President of the Women’s Council on Energy & the Environment (WCEE), I am particularly honored to recognize this important landmark. WCEE’s mission is to advance the professional development and education of women by providing non-partisan, policy neutral forums on energy and environmental issues. With over 800 members in the Washington DC area, there are many wonderful events every year. Among the most notable is the annual WCEE Gala, which highlights the accomplishments of two selected energy leaders: the Woman of the Year and Champion. This year’s award winners have been announced:
Miranda Ballentine
CEO, Renewable Energy Buyers Alliance
2020 Woman of the Year
Vicki Bailey
Founder, Anderson Stratton International
2020 Champion
WCEE’s 39th Annual Gala will be an evening to remember. Additional details coming soon. |
